How to stay Healthy in Tough Times
As you already know we’re in a Pandemic and majority of us have been on a mandatory stay at home order (given on March 11th, 2020) so it’s been a little over a month now! And I’m sure it may have been pretty tough on people having to stay home, losing jobs, not having income due to small owned business closed, taking care of the kids at home 24/7, trying to work from home, having to wait in long lines to get inside the grocery store (while wearing an uncomfortable mask on that we can’t wait to take off as soon as we get back in the car!), and the list goes on! I get it, it’s a lot to handle all at once. The energy to try to stay healthy mentally and physically may be lacking right now. I know I’ve had a few days/weeks that I was on a constant battle with myself to stay healthy and I’m talking about mentally and physically. It’s so crucial to keep up with your health, because health is wealth!
Just remember (as you know time flies by) so time will pass and THIS WILL BE ALL BE OVER SOON it’s just a matter of time! I wanted to gather up tips/ideas that can help you stay on track to a healthy lifestyle with mental and physical health. This also has been helpful for myself through these tough times.
TIPS & IDEAS
First what I want you to do is think of the things you generally enjoy doing most. Whatever that maybe I’d suggest to time block that activity into your schedule at least 1hr out of your day. You doing something that you love every day will give you peace for some time out of your hectic day. This is an exercise for your mental health.
(One of mine is I love to work out and read so that is the 1st thing I do when I wake up! I time blocked it for an hour and a half. and towards the end of the day 30minutes of reading.)
BE GRATEFUL.
Before you either start or end your day say 3 things that you are grateful for to yourself and repeat it at least three times.
STOP LISTENING TO THE MEDIA.
The majority of the news cast report BAD NEWS, it’s never focused on the Good. Focus on the good things that are happening and think of all the good things that will be happening when this is all over!
START EXERCISING.
You can do it! I know you can! Dedicate at least 30 mins to one hr. to work out! Just get up and do it! I promise you, you will feel so amazing and accomplished after you completed your work out!
START MAKING HEALTHIER CHOICES AT THE MARKET.
Find alternatives for healthier choices! For example, when I make oatmeal for breakfast, I buy plain oatmeal and then buy fruit for a sweet taste versus buying oatmeal packets that contain a lot of sugar in it. You know what’s good and bad for you just make the right decision. Remember health is wealth!
THERE’S A LITTLE GOOD IN EVERY DAY EVEN IF IT’S A BAD ONE!
Keep an open mind and try to look for the good in every day. There’s always a little good, sometimes it won’t be completely obvious but trust me it’s in there!
Those are just a few tips and ideas from me to you and please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email, text, calls, and social media if you have any questions! I’m here to help any way I can!
